eBay Korea SmilePay Launches Easy Payment Service at Lotte Duty Free

eBay Korea's simple payment service 'SmilePay' has launched a payment service for Lotte Duty Free.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] SmilePay, the easy payment service of eBay Korea, which operates Gmarket, Auction, and G9, has launched a payment service for Lotte Duty Free.

According to eBay Korea on the 3rd, when using SmilePay on the Lotte Duty Free app and PC web payment screen, payment can be completed by entering a 6-digit password without installing a separate certificate. With the introduction of SmilePay at Lotte Duty Free, SmilePay can now be used at most major domestic duty-free stores including Shilla Duty Free, Hyundai Department Store Duty Free, and Dongwha Duty Free.

SmilePay is a shopping-specialized easy payment service widely used by customers aged 30 to 49 with high purchasing power, and it is expected to have a particularly strong synergy effect with non-landing sightseeing flights where duty-free purchases are possible. Additionally, SmileCash accumulated by SmilePay users can also be used when purchasing duty-free products.

An eBay Korea official said, “Through the partnership with Lotte Duty Free, eBay Korea can now provide SmilePay customers with an expanded payment experience in the travel and tourism sectors,” adding, “We will continue to expand strategic partnerships through SmilePay to enhance customer convenience as well as promote mutual growth with our partners.”
