High Praise for Hybrid Online-Offline Smart Festival
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that the Haenam Minam Festival received the 9th Korea Festival Contents Grand Prize hosted by the Korea Festival Contents Association.
Now in its 9th year, the Korea Festival Contents Grand Prize is awarded annually to festivals selected through objective and rigorous evaluations by a panel of experts from various fields who are completely free from conflicts of interest.
This year, the award for non-face-to-face festivals was given to local governments that successfully held festivals in various forms, including hybrid festivals combining non-face-to-face and online/offline formats, despite the COVID-19 crisis last year.
The 2nd Haenam Minam Festival was held from November 2 to 7 last year as a smart festival combining online and offline events.
As an offline event, 2,020 lunchboxes filled with Haenam’s sincerity and taste were delivered to COVID-19 response healthcare workers nationwide and elderly care facilities in the region.
Additionally, new possibilities for food festivals were showcased through an online Minam Food Show featuring cooking competitions by famous chefs, live commerce selling Haenam agricultural and marine products, and virtual gourmet tours where influencers visited Haenam online.
The Haenam Minam Festival, first held in 2019, was a great success with about 140,000 visitors in its inaugural year, and was held as a non-face-to-face smart festival last year due to the spread of COVID-19.
It is a food festival using Haenam’s agricultural and marine specialties as ingredients, with various programs prepared under the theme of Delicious Haenam (味南).
