Mayor Jo Gyu-il Inspects Sports Facilities at Geumsan Waryong District Site
Joo Kyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, is conducting an on-site inspection of the sports facilities in the Namgang Waryong District.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 2nd that it will open the 'Waryong District Sports Facilities' along the Namgang River in Jungcheon-ri, Geumsan-myeon.
The Busan Regional Land Management Office created sports facilities and a family-centered ecological park on 440,000㎡ of the Namgang Waryong District as part of the comprehensive maintenance plan for national rivers other than the Four Major Rivers.
In addition, Jinju City invested 1 billion KRW to install convenience facilities such as safety fences and restrooms at facilities for four sports other than the baseball field, and then opened the facilities.
Before the opening, Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il visited the Waryong District sports facilities on the 2nd to inspect the management status of the sports facilities and the friendly ecological park and received a report on the operation plan.
During his visit, Mayor Cho pledged, "We will do our best to ensure that citizens, who have been restrained due to COVID-19, do not experience any inconvenience in using the facilities."
The Namgang Waryong District sports facility complex includes two baseball fields, one soccer field, one jokgu court, one basketball court, and one futsal field. The friendly ecological park features a 3.8 km bicycle path and family-centered leisure culture spaces such as a lawn yard, a natural learning garden, and a 3.7 km walking trail.
