[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Incheon City announced on the 2nd that 22 people tested positive for COVID-19.
Among them, 3 were classified as confirmed cases related to a local hospital or nursing hospital where a small-scale cluster infection recently occurred.
Regarding a hospital in Michuhol-gu, one contact of a confirmed case tested positive just before being released from self-quarantine. The total confirmed cases have increased to 19.
Additionally, one more infected person was identified during cohort isolation at a nursing hospital in Namdong-gu. At a restaurant in Ganghwa-gun, following 10 confirmed cases since the 17th of last month, one more person was newly infected.
Among the remaining 19 newly confirmed cases announced that day, 16 were contacts of existing confirmed cases.
One person who entered the country from overseas also tested positive, and the infection routes of two confirmed cases remain unknown.
The new confirmed cases by region are 7 in Seo-gu, 5 in Yeonsu-gu, 4 in Jung-gu, 2 in Michuhol-gu, and 1 each in Dong-gu, Namdong-gu, Bupyeong-gu, and Ganghwa-gun.
As of this day, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the Incheon area is 4,476.
