Party and government frequently meet to discuss and unite, "Let's open a greater era of Gunmin happiness"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sun-ho) announced on the 2nd that it held a communication session to open the "Greater Era of Happiness for Gurye Residents" by intensively discussing major issues and national and provincial projects through the Democratic Party local committee (Chairman Congressman Seo Dong-yong) and the party-government council.
Gurye-gun held a party-government council with the Democratic Party Gurye Regional Committee to request securing national and provincial budgets and active support from the party level for the successful promotion of the Gurye Future Vision 4+α Zone Development Plan and the resolution of local issues.
About 30 people attended the party-government council held in the Gurye-gun Office Situation Room, including Governor Kim Sun-ho, Regional Chairman Congressman Seo Dong-yong, Council Chairman Yoo Si-moon, Provincial Assemblyman Lee Hyun-chang, Democratic Party-affiliated council members, and key party officials.
At this meeting, the future vision of Gurye by four major zones was presented, and meaningful time was spent focusing on discussing and consulting on solutions to pending tasks driving regional development, such as the Jirisan Cable Car installation project, the creation of the Yeongho-Nam Harmony Seomjingang Integrated Tourism Belt, and the Natural Dream Healing Cluster project, as well as budget securing plans.
In particular, regarding the attraction of the Jirisan Cable Car to Gurye-gun and the withdrawal of the Seoul-Seongsamjae intercity bus operation, it was emphasized that these are major issues reflecting the strong will of Gurye residents more than any other agenda, and repeated requests were made for special attention and support at the party level.
In addition, materials on next year's regional balanced New Deal projects being prepared, such as the mixed plastic upcycle center construction support project, disaster safety integrated management system establishment, and digital smart tourism city construction, were delivered, raising expectations for securing national and provincial budgets.
Governor Kim Sun-ho requested, "The agenda discussed at the party-government council is an important project that can overcome the unprecedented flood damage last year and enable Gurye to leap forward to a higher level, so please gather active interest and support from the regional committee."
Regional Chairman Seo Dong-yong expressed his determination, saying, "We will make extraordinary efforts to ensure that the national treasury application projects and pending projects discussed at this party-government council are reflected and secured in the government budget," and repeatedly emphasized the importance of communication, saying, "If party and government discuss and consult together from the planning stage of national projects, there will be greater achievements."
Meanwhile, this party-government council was the second since 2019, as it was canceled last year due to COVID-19. It was regretted that communication channels between the party and government had been limited, and it was resolved to lead regional development through solid governance not only between the party and government but also with local councils in the future.
