16 out of 20 Designers Selected for Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio Residency

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Designers from the Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio are set to participate in large numbers at 'Seoul Fashion Week,' Asia's representative fashion business event.


According to Gyeonggi Province on the 2nd, 16 out of 20 resident designers at the Gyeonggi Fashion Creation Studio have been selected to participate in the '2021 F/W (Fall/Winter) Seoul Fashion Week,' which will be held from the 22nd to the 27th.


This is an increased scale of participation compared to the 6 designers who participated in the 2020 F/W (Fall/Winter) and 2021 S/S (Spring/Summer) Seoul Fashion Weeks, respectively.


For this season, one designer, 'SseSseSse Jang Yoon-kyung,' will participate in the Seoul Collection, and six designers?'Manode Lim Heon-su,' 'Prenoseoul Lee Seo-yoon,' 'M:Am Park Hyun,' 'Linjeon Jeon Hye-rin,' 'Cumulate Kim Yeon-sung,' and 'Part of Universe Park Cheong-ae'?will participate in Generation Next.


Additionally, nine designers?'Julianne Daisy Yoo Jung-eun,' 'Vegan Tiger Yang Yoon-ah,' 'Waviness Kim Hyun-seop,' 'Sai Lee Seo-young,' 'Serpe Lee Sang-hwa,' 'Done Factory Song Ji-hoon,' 'Tosae Han Hyun-joo,' 'Boramyoo Yoo Bo-ram,' and 'Lume Bang Yoon-jung'?have been selected as participants in the Trade Show.


'Seoul Collection' is a fashion show featuring top-tier designers representing South Korea, while 'Generation Next' is a fashion show for emerging designers with independent brands operating for more than one year but less than five years, serving as a gateway for next-generation designers.


The trade show 'Generation Next Seoul' supports the domestic and international market expansion of designer brands through business matching between capable domestic fashion designer brands and domestic and international buyers.


Currently, collaboration between the 20 resident designers and textile companies within the province is also being promoted.
