Less than 5t of Household Waste for 2 Months from Move-in Date
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk Province has been exempting residents who register their address change from paying the waste disposal fee for household waste since the beginning of this year as part of its population inflow policy.
According to Yeongcheon City on the 28th, if residents who have moved from other areas bring less than 5 tons of household waste (including furniture and home appliances) using their own vehicle directly to the Green Environment Center (city landfill) located in Wansan-dong, the disposal fee of 25,000 KRW per ton will be waived.
However, the exemption period is up to 2 months from the date of moving in. To receive the fee exemption, residents must bring one copy of the resident registration abstract showing the address change and their ID card to the Green Environment Center.
An official from Yeongcheon City stated, "We expect that this policy will allow new residents to conveniently dispose of various household wastes generated after moving, leaving a good first impression of Yeongcheon City on them."
