Gwangju Reports 12 New COVID-19 Cases on 26th, Total Reaches 2,070


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] On the 26th, 12 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gwangju Metropolitan City.


According to Gwangju City on the 27th, the number of new confirmed cases as of the previous day is 12 (4 previously announced), classified as Gwangju cases 2059 to 2070.


The infection routes are as follows: 6 cases related to the LINA Life Insurance call center, 2 cases related to Gwangju 2058, 1 case related to Gwangju 1950, 1 case related to Jeonbuk 1149, 1 case related to Yongsan 634 (Soonchunhyang University Hospital), and 1 case with an unknown route.


All 6 confirmed cases related to the LINA Life Insurance call center (Gwangju 2061, 2062, 2067 to 2069) developed symptoms while in self-quarantine. The cumulative confirmed cases related to the LINA Life Insurance call center are 49, with 1 on the 22nd, 24 on the 23rd, 11 on the 24th, 7 on the 25th, and 6 on the 26th.


Gwangju 2059, a resident of Gwangsan-gu, has an unknown infection route.


Gwangju 2060 tested positive in a test before release from self-quarantine, and the infection route is linked to Gwangju 1950.


Two cases, Gwangju 2064 and 2070, are related to Gwangju 2058, who was confirmed positive on the 25th. The infection route of Gwangju 2058 is under investigation.


Inter-regional transmission has also occurred. Gwangju 2063 and Gwangju 2066 are confirmed cases related to Yongsan 634 (Soonchunhyang University Hospital) and Jeonbuk 1149, respectively.


The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the region is 2,070.
