Vaccination Starts with Inpatients and Staff under 65 at Nursing Hospitals and Care Facilities
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it has started COVID-19 vaccination to secure herd immunity that can protect the lives and health of residents through safe vaccination.
The county will first vaccinate about 1,450 people, including residents and workers of nursing hospitals and nursing facilities under the age of 65, with the AstraZeneca vaccine by the first week of March.
After the first dose is completed, the county plans to finish vaccinating healthcare workers in high-risk medical institutions, first responders such as 119 paramedics, and health center staff involved in quarantine by March.
For nursing hospitals, vaccinations will be administered on-site; for nursing facilities, contracted physicians will visit each facility to vaccinate, or if difficult, the health center’s visiting team will provide vaccinations. Walk-in vaccinations at the health center are also available.
