1-Minute Opponent Compliment Time
Na Misses Out on Oh Due to Lack of Time
"Does a Runaway General Scold a Fighting General?"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] The conflict between Na Kyung-won and Oh Se-hoon, the preliminary candidates competing for the People Power Party's Seoul mayoral nomination, was clearly revealed again in the four-person debate.
On the 26th, during the joint vision debate for the Seoul mayoral candidate primary, which was broadcast live on the People Power Party's YouTube channel 'Oreun Sori,' each candidate was given one minute to praise their opponents.
The praise relay started with preliminary candidate Oh Se-hoon, followed by Oh Shin-hwan and Cho Eun-hee. All three candidates praised their opponents.
Finally, it was Na's turn. However, after praising Oh Shin-hwan and Cho Eun-hee, Na ran out of time and did not mention Oh Se-hoon. Although Na made a gesture indicating a timing mistake, the moderator asked him to briefly praise Oh Se-hoon during the upcoming lead discussion, but he did not bring it up again.
This was a fallout from the emotional conflict that arose after Oh Se-hoon called Na a 'hardline conservative' and, in an interview, said that Na lacked moderate inclusiveness, making it difficult to unify with Ahn Cheol-soo, the People's Party candidate.
Especially during Oh Se-hoon's lead remarks at the end, when he started by saying that the conservative party is "misunderstood and called a party for the wealthy," Na suddenly requested a rebuttal right (60 seconds).

Na said, "You keep calling me a hardline conservative, but the reasons keep changing. First, going to Gwanghwamun to protest was a problem. Then you said I gained nothing as the floor leader, which is truly regrettable," adding, "I am not saying I was a 100% successful floor leader, but isn't it wrong for a leader who fled in 2011 to criticize a leader who fought?"
Oh responded, "I think there is a deep misunderstanding," and concluded his lead remarks on the 'Safe Income' policy he had prepared. Oh did not remain silent either. In a situation where he had to ask other candidates' opinions during his two-minute speech, Oh said, "Candidate Na used it differently," and only asked for the opinions of candidates Cho and Oh Shin-hwan. The response time was also short, only 30 seconds.
The People Power Party's final Seoul mayoral candidate will be confirmed on the 4th after a general public opinion survey on the 2nd and 3rd of next month.
