University Vocational Technical Education 'Exported' to Jordan... Dong-Eui University Dispatches Experts for 'Jordan Vocational Technical Education Project' A representative from Dong-Eui University and the president of Balqa University in Jordan are discussing the project to improve the vocational technical education environment.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) International Cooperation Center (Director Lee Im-geon) dispatched experts to Jordan through the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) project to transform vocational technical education environments and engage in curriculum development.


Dong-Eui University announced that it has been conducting a 23-day field survey in Jordan from February 19 to March 13 for the "Market-Based Vocational Technical Education Capacity Building Project at three universities including Balqa University in Jordan."


Last year, Dong-Eui University was selected as the PMC institution for the Market-Based Vocational Technical Education Capacity Building Project (2020?2024, $6 million) at Balqa University and Irbid Vocational College in Jordan.


This project aims to improve the vocational technical education environment and support curriculum development for three majors (Graphic Design, Dental Technology, Fashion & Knit) at Irbid Vocational College under Balqa University, and five majors (Automotive, Architecture, Welding & Piping, Electronics, Fashion & Knit) at Karak Vocational College.


Additionally, the project supports the establishment of career development centers at the three universities (Balqa University, Irbid Vocational College, Karak Vocational College). Through the establishment of center operation manuals and advisory services for career development program development, the plan is to enhance the capacity for career counseling and employment support for graduates.


For this initial field survey, Dong-Eui University dispatched Professor Sung Jeong-ae and Professor Kang Min-jong from the International Cooperation Center, along with staff member Jo Hun-mi.


On February 21, a project commencement briefing was held with officials from Balqa University. At the event, Balqa University President Prof. Abdallah S. Al-Zoubi stated, "We expect that based on a strong partnership between the two institutions, this will contribute to the activation of employment and career development for graduates."


Dong-Eui University is also striving to provide quality education by improving the overall educational environment in Jordan, including the establishment of Zarqa Technical High School and building three elementary and secondary schools in Syrian refugee camp areas such as Mafraq, Irbid, and Zarqa for Syrian refugees and vulnerable children in Jordan.
