[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] On the 26th, starting from 9 a.m., Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) began COVID-19 vaccinations for workers and residents of nursing hospitals and nursing facilities.

According to Sinan-gun, vaccinations started at three facilities including the Sinan-gun Elderly Specialized Nursing Home, and proceeded smoothly without any adverse reactions after vaccination.

The first priority vaccination target includes a total of seven facilities: two nursing hospitals will conduct vaccinations internally, while five nursing facilities will implement both health center visit vaccinations and on-site vaccinations.

This COVID-19 vaccination consists of two doses, with the second dose scheduled for the end of April, eight weeks after the first dose. Starting in March, vaccinations will be administered sequentially to about 286 high-risk medical institution workers, including hospital staff, fire station 119 paramedics, and health center COVID-19 first responders.

Subsequently, vaccinations for residents aged 65 and older and the general public are expected to be available from July at 16 health sub-centers, 8 designated medical institutions, and vaccination centers, depending on vaccine supply conditions.

Sinan-gun plans to establish and operate a vaccination center at the Gunmin Gymnasium in Amhae-eup by the end of May.

Additionally, from the 26th, a dedicated COVID-19 vaccination information hotline will be opened to provide guidance on any questions regarding COVID-19 vaccinations.

Governor Park Woo-ryang of Sinan-gun stated, “We ask for active participation in vaccinations to overcome COVID-19 early and return to daily life,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure safe COVID-19 vaccinations by thoroughly preparing vaccination personnel training, vaccine distribution, and storage without any setbacks.”
