Which University is Top in Industry? Dong-Eui University Mechanical Engineering Selected as Best Department in 2020 Industry Perspective

In the Machinery (Automobile) Field, Dong-Eui University and Pusan National University Selected in the Busan Area

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Mechanical, Automotive, and Robotics Parts Engineering, College of IT Convergence Components and Materials Engineering at Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) was selected as the top department in the "2020 University Evaluation from the Industry Perspective" announced by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Council for University Education (KCUE) on February 24.

The university evaluation from the industry perspective is a project that evaluates core competencies required for job performance in each field and related curricula from the industry's point of view, and has been conducted since 2008.

This 2020 evaluation was conducted on 81 departments from 53 universities that wished to participate among universities with departments related to architectural construction and mechanical (automotive) fields.

The evaluation was conducted by a committee composed of corporate executives and university evaluation experts.

In the mechanical (automotive) field, 40 universities participated, and 13 universities were selected. The top departments included △Dong-Eui University Mechanical Engineering △Gachon University Mechanical Engineering △Daegu University Department of Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Major, Mechanical Design Engineering Major) △Pusan National University Department of Mechanical Engineering △Seoul National University of Science and Technology Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering - Automotive Engineering Program △Woosuk University Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering △Chonnam National University Department of Mechanical Engineering △Chosun University Department of Mechanical Engineering △Chung-Ang University Department of Mechanical Engineering △Korea University of Technology and Education Department of Mechanical Engineering △Korea Polytechnic University Mechanical Design Engineering Department △Halla University Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering △Hanyang University Department of Mechanical Engineering.

President Han Su-hwan of Dong-Eui University said, "Dong-Eui University has introduced collaborative education that cultivates collaborative talents who possess not only technical and major knowledge but also character, basic literacy, creativity, and problem-solving skills," adding, "We are focusing university capabilities on creating top departments in all fields, including the mechanical (automotive) field, through innovative curriculum reforms and infrastructure establishment to nurture creative talents who can adapt to changing times."

Dong-Eui University’s Architectural Engineering Major and Civil Engineering Major were selected as top departments in 2016, Computer Engineering and Information and Communication Engineering Majors in 2017, Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Engineering Majors in 2018, and the Department of New Materials Engineering’s Metallurgical Materials Engineering Major in 2019 in the university evaluation from the industry perspective.
