[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] DGB Life Insurance announced on the 26th that it participated in the Newborn Saving Hat Knitting Campaign to protect the lives of newborns in underdeveloped countries as part of its employees' talent donation volunteer activities.
The Newborn Saving Hat Knitting Campaign, organized by the international relief organization Save the Children, is a participatory campaign where participants knit wool hats and patch blankets to send to newborns in underdeveloped countries who are threatened due to lack of thermal protection in situations where maintaining body temperature is difficult.
DGB Life Insurance has been conducting this campaign regularly every year since 2016, and this year, about 30 employees participated. Over 50 wool hats made by the employees will be delivered to newborns in Senegal, Mali, and other countries.
A DGB Life Insurance official said, "In a situation where a global crisis continues due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems even more meaningful that we were able to gather even this small amount of sincerity for a better world," adding, "We will continue our efforts with one heart to create a warm world by fulfilling our social responsibilities."
