382 Local Cases, 24 Imported Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] On the 26th, the number of new COVID-19 cases in South Korea recorded 406. This marks an increase of 10 cases from the previous day, returning to the 400 range after just one day.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight, 406 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed domestically, bringing the total to 88,922. Regarding the infection routes, 382 cases were locally transmitted, and 24 were imported from overseas.
By region, the Seoul metropolitan area accounted for a high proportion with 129 cases in Seoul, 135 in Gyeonggi, and 14 in Incheon. In non-metropolitan areas, there were 23 cases in Gyeongbuk, 15 in Jeonbuk, 11 in Gwangju, 10 each in Busan, Chungbuk, and Daegu, 6 in Daejeon, 5 each in Gangwon, Jeonnam, and Gyeongnam, 2 in Chungnam, and 1 each in Ulsan and Sejong. No new cases were reported in Jeju.
Among the 24 imported cases, 8 were detected during quarantine, and the remaining 16 were identified within the local community. Of these, 10 were Korean nationals and 14 were foreigners.
The cumulative death toll from COVID-19 increased by 4 from the previous day, reaching 1,585. Among hospitalized patients, the number of critically ill patients remained the same as the previous day at 144. The number of patients who have recovered and been released from isolation increased by 393, totaling 79,880.
On this day, the number of diagnostic tests conducted based on suspected reports was 38,852, and 32,988 tests were performed at temporary screening clinics set up in the metropolitan area. At these metropolitan temporary screening clinics, 45 new cases were confirmed.
