[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Kang Seong-cheon, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, visited the 'Small Business Support Fund Call Center' located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul on the 26th to inspect the quarantine measures for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

He visited the call center where the support fund is guided on the front lines and checked the implementation of quarantine guidelines such as wearing masks, temperature checks, availability of hand sanitizers, regular ventilation, and social distancing.

Since May last year, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has been periodically inspecting the implementation of social distancing and quarantine guidelines targeting traditional markets, shopping districts, and small supermarkets under the supervision of 13 regional Small and Medium Venture Business Offices nationwide. So far, 1,275 traditional markets and shopping districts and 579 small supermarkets have been inspected.

Kang Seong-cheon, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "Call centers, which are high-risk workplaces, have a dense environment where counselors conduct work over the phone, so thoroughly following quarantine rules is the best shortcut to preventing COVID-19," and urged call center officials to ensure strict compliance with quarantine guidelines.
