Support of 34.51 million KRW for 63 Apartment Complexes... Support Ranges from 1 million to 8 million KRW per Complex, with Differential Self-Payment Rates Based on Participation Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) is calling for applications for the 'Community Revitalization Project' targeting multi-family housing complexes.
This project supports community programs within multi-family housing complexes that enable residents to communicate with their neighbors, after undergoing the district's project review process.
To develop and smoothly implement the community revitalization project, the district has appointed community experts who actively support the project by conducting phone and on-site consultations with multi-family housing complexes, gathering opinions from residents, and discovering suitable programs based on the characteristics of each complex.
Last year, 30 million KRW was supported for nine multi-family housing complexes, including Sindang KCC Switzen Apartments.
In particular, Namsan Town Apartments received the 'Bronze Award' at the '2020 Seoul Apartment Community Revitalization Project Best Practice Presentation' held at the end of last year for resident harmony programs such as a non-face-to-face autumn concert, individually delivering samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) to isolated elderly residents on Samgyetang Day, and producing masks to distribute to cleaning staff.
This year, in preparation for the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the project will support non-face-to-face initiatives and fields that can be converted to non-face-to-face formats, allowing applications for projects utilizing non-face-to-face content production and online channels.
Additionally, community revitalization education will be mandatory before and after the start of each complex's project to strengthen residents' capabilities and create sustainable conditions for activities.
The eligible targets include multi-family housing complexes subject to mandatory management and those with 20 or more households under voluntary management, totaling 63 complexes in the region. The project fields include revitalization projects that complexes plan to implement independently, such as ▲communication and resident harmony ▲eco-friendly practices and experiences ▲hobbies and startups ▲education and childcare ▲health and exercise ▲neighborly help and social service.
The total support budget is 34.51 million KRW, with support ranging from 1 million KRW to a maximum of 8 million KRW per complex. To encourage continued participation by more communities, the self-payment rate of the support amount will be applied differentially from 10% to 40% depending on the number of years of community participation.
Complexes wishing to participate should gather residents' opinions, discover community programs suited to the characteristics of their complex, prepare a project plan, and apply to the Housing Division of Jung-gu Office by March 12 under the joint name of the Residents' Representative Meeting, the Community Revitalization Organization, and the management entity.
Seoyangho, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, "I thank the residents who cooperated with the project while complying with quarantine rules despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19," and added, "I hope this project becomes an opportunity for communication among neighbors and complexes within apartments, making the living spaces happy and desirable homes for residents."
