Jungnang-gu Inspects Free Public Wi-Fi Zone 'Jungnang Data Shelter'

Wi-Fi Now Available at Traditional Markets in Jungnang-gu On the 24th, an employee of Jungnang District Office is inspecting the public Wi-Fi zone 'Jungnang Data Shelter' at a restaurant located in Dongwon Traditional General Market.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) inspected the free public Wi-Fi zone ‘Jungnang Data Shelter’ to provide convenient Wi-Fi service to residents visiting traditional markets in celebration of Jeongwol Daeboreum.

The inspection was conducted from the 22nd to the 26th at seven alley-type traditional markets in the area.

District office staff visited 36 ‘Jungnang Data Shelter’ locations in each market, measured Wi-Fi signals, and carefully checked the condition of usage guide signs.

They also provided detailed instructions on how to use Wi-Fi to merchants unfamiliar with it and checked on difficulties caused by COVID-19.

Since 2019, the district has established 164 ‘Jungnang Data Shelter’ locations to improve residents’ access to information.

In particular, a total of 36 data shelters have been set up in traditional markets, including six locations in Dongbu Alley Market, seven in Dongwon Traditional General Market, and seven in Myeonmok Market, allowing market visitors and merchants to use them conveniently.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “We will continue to install data shelters so that Wi-Fi can be conveniently used in parks, bus stops, and other places.”
