Jeong Jin-wan, Former Director of Icheon Training Center, Appointed as President of Korea Paralympic Committee


The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 25th that Jeong Jin-wan, former director of the Icheon Training Center, has been appointed as the president of the Korea Paralympic Committee. His term is four years, until February 2025.


Newly appointed President Jeong is a gold medalist in shooting at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics. He graduated from Yongin University with a degree in Special Physical Education and earned a master's degree in Physical Education from Korea National Sport University. He transformed into an administrator by serving as the director of the Korea Paralympic Committee in 2006. He has accumulated extensive field experience and understanding by serving as the secretary general of the Chungnam Disabled Sports Association, director of the Disabled Sports Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and director of the Icheon Training Center.


Minister Hwang Hee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism urged at the inauguration ceremony, "Please make great efforts so that disabled sports can be newly transformed and advance to the next level."
