[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] It has been confirmed that an instructor operating an unauthorized sports class in a region of Gyeongbuk committed habitual sexual violence against teenage students.
On the 25th, the police announced that they had arrested a man in his 50s, instructor A, on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse, and sent him to the prosecution.
According to the police, around January, A is accused of committing sexual violence against student B by saying, "I will give you a growth massage," in places such as park restrooms. It is reported that A continued high-intensity sexual violence six times using this method.
The crime was discovered on the scene by police who responded to a report from a citizen using the restroom on the 31st of last month, and A was arrested as a suspect caught in the act. In police investigations, A strongly denies the charges, saying, "I did give a massage, but I did not commit sexual assault."
A is also reported to have received money from adolescent students and taught basketball and other activities on the streets.
A police official stated, "We are expanding the investigation, believing there may be more victims among the students."
