[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) conducted a simulation drill on the 25th, one day before the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination.
The purpose was to minimize trial and error through pre-training ahead of the first phase of COVID-19 vaccination starting at 9 a.m. on the 26th, so that residents can safely receive the vaccine.
This simulation drill was conducted in four main stages: vaccine management, vaccination preparation, vaccination implementation, and adverse reaction monitoring.
Before the drill, the district explained precautions to be taken when handling the vaccine and carried out the vaccination process?including vaccine preparation, target verification and preliminary examination, vaccination, and electronic registration?in an orderly manner as if in a real situation.
Additionally, a transport drill was conducted to prepare for severe adverse reactions after vaccination completion.
Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yu Seong-hoon also participated in all stages of the simulation drill, acting as a resident coming to receive the vaccination, to check the progress.
Meanwhile, starting from the 26th, the district will conduct the first phase of COVID-19 vaccination targeting approximately 1,000 residents (from 19 facilities) under 65 years old residing or working in nursing facilities and mental health rehabilitation facilities at the Health Management Center on the 2nd floor of Geumcheon-gu Public Health Center.
The second phase of vaccination, scheduled for the second quarter, will target residents aged 65 and older, users and workers of elderly home welfare facilities, and the third phase, scheduled for the third to fourth quarters, will target residents aged 18 to 64, essential personnel such as firefighters and police officers, and workers in educational and childcare facilities.
The district has formed a vaccine response team within the public health center to ensure the vaccination proceeds safely.
Also, on the 24th, a business agreement was signed with the local community council including Geumcheon Police Station, Guro Fire Station, military units, Geumcheon-gu Medical Association, and the Geumcheon-gu Volunteer Club Federation.
Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “We will strengthen the cooperation system with related organizations to ensure that the upcoming COVID-19 vaccination proceeds quickly and safely, and thoroughly respond by considering all possible scenarios.”
