Park Ji-hyun, Former Vice President, Appointed as President of Korea Electrical Safety Corporation


[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Korea Electrical Safety Corporation announced on the 25th that former Vice President Park Jihyun has been inaugurated as the 17th president.


He is the first internally appointed president since the corporation's establishment. His term is three years, ending on February 24, 2024.


President Park, originally from Gimje, Jeonbuk, graduated from Wonkwang University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and earned a master's degree in Electronic Information and Communication Engineering from Kwangwoon University. He joined the corporation in 1978 and held key positions at regional headquarters, the Safety Policy Department, the Management Planning Department, and other field offices and headquarters until he stepped down as vice president in 2015.


During his tenure, he received the Prime Minister's Commendation for his contribution to the successful hosting of the 2002 World Cup, and after retirement, he was awarded the Order of Industrial Service Merit, Silver Tower, for his contributions to the promotion of the electric power industry.


On the day of his inauguration ceremony at the headquarters in Jeonbuk Innovation City, President Park stated, "I will strive for thorough safety management, customer- and field-centered management, creative technological innovation in line with changes in the business environment, and strengthening organizational capabilities."
