COVID-19 Vaccines Safely Arrive via Joint Escort by Military Units and Police Stations
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced that County Governor Gu In-mo personally received the first batch of 300 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at the public health center on the 25th, ahead of the COVID-19 vaccination.
According to the county, the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine, consigned and produced by SK Bioscience, departed from the logistics center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province at 6 a.m. and safely arrived at the public health center and Geochang County Nursing Hospital via Geochang IC around 8 a.m.
The vaccine that arrived at the public health center was safely stored in the vaccine storage room within the center while maintaining the cold chain.
Additionally, 200 doses of the vaccine are scheduled to arrive on the 27th at Seongeun Hyo Nursing Hospital and Deogyusan Nature Love Nursing Hospital. Due to possible variables such as departure time and traffic during transportation, the exact receiving times at each facility are subject to change.
The received vaccines will begin the first inoculation starting on the 26th for approximately 400 residents and workers under the age of 65 at three nursing hospitals and eight nursing facilities, who are prioritized for vaccination, with the plan to complete the first dose by March 9.
Gu In-mo, Governor of Geochang County, said, “We have safely received the first supplied COVID-19 vaccines, and we will continue to receive the remaining vaccines without any issues. We will devote all administrative efforts to ensure that COVID-19 vaccinations proceed smoothly to help restore the daily lives of our residents.”
