Operation of 'I'M READY' Career and Employment Support System after Selection as Business Operation University in 2019
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) was selected as an ‘Excellent University,’ the highest grade in the 2020 evaluation of the University Job Center Project performance. The project evaluation is hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and organized by the Korea Employment Information Service.
Since being selected as an operating university for the University Job Center Project in 2019, Dongseo University’s University Job Center has made various efforts to operate a one-stop education support system based on the career and employment support system called I’M READY.
Through close industry-academia exchanges with local related organizations and companies, it has worked hard to expand work experience opportunities and operate industry-academia-research linked projects, thereby revitalizing youth employment policies and preparing measures.
In the national disaster situation caused by COVID-19, the existing face-to-face career and employment consulting and curricular and extracurricular programs were converted to non-face-to-face methods or blended methods were applied to provide substantial educational content to enrolled students and local youth that was no different from actual face-to-face education.
Significant investments were also made in infrastructure such as online remote lecture rooms and video consulting rooms.
It received high satisfaction from enrolled students and local youth who benefited greatly, and achieved the result of being selected as an ‘Excellent University,’ the highest grade in the 2020 University Job Center Project evaluation.
Song Kang-young, head of the University Job Center, said, “We will focus on further solidifying the I’M READY system, a step-by-step and systematic education system unique to our university’s University Job Center, to help resolve the job mismatch and job-seeking difficulties of local youth.”
