[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 25th that from the 22nd to the 24th, about 40 principals and staff in charge of area-based school space innovation participated in the ‘School Space Innovation Job Training Reflecting Life’ held at the Jeonnam Education Training Institute.
The ‘Area-Based School Space Innovation Project’ is a project that supports a budget of 300 million KRW for 12 target schools this year by gathering opinions from students, faculty, and parents, going through design and construction stages, and unveiling future education spaces in February next year.
The training, themed ‘Architecture for the Future,’ analyzed specific cases such as ▲student health ▲the importance of eco-friendly architecture for future society ▲directions of the school space innovation project ▲types of spatial changes ▲user participatory design. Additionally, participants were divided into groups of principals, teachers, and administrative directors to discuss roles and points to be cautious about, and guidance was provided on administrative processing and budgeting for school space innovation.
Schools that completed the training plan to officially proceed with the ‘2021 School Space Innovation Area-Based Project’ next month after signing a service contract with a private architectural expert as a facilitator.
The participating staff expressed their thoughts, saying, “School space innovation is not the effort or idea of one person but is created through the cooperation and communication of all members, and it must be accompanied by considerations for future education and changes in the curriculum.”
