[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-eun] Na Kyung-won, the People Power Party's preliminary candidate for Seoul mayor, criticized her party colleague Oh Se-hoon, also a preliminary candidate for Seoul mayor, on the 25th, saying, "He is making irresponsible criticisms against me."

Na made this criticism in a post titled "Candidate Oh Se-hoon, please put aside your urgency and participate confidently in the primary" on her Facebook page that day.

She continued, "My will for opposition unity is firm. I have promised the citizens for a long time that I will definitely achieve unity," adding, "My belief that we must win this by maximizing the synergy effect in the People Power Party candidate primary and the subsequent opposition unity has never wavered even once."

Na said, "However, Candidate Oh Se-hoon, due to recent debates and public opinion trends, is making very irresponsible criticisms without basis, saying that if I become the candidate, unity will not be easy. It is truly regrettable," and added, "I hope no one distorts my sincere intention to communicate openly and join forces carelessly."

She further stated, "Opposition unity should be for the citizens and by the citizens, not a 'political deal' based on strategy and calculation. I am worried that Candidate Oh's recent actions might be seen as conditional candidacy, conditional primary, and conditional unity," and added, "Candidate Oh Se-hoon, please put aside your urgency and help create a righteous primary together."

Earlier, Candidate Oh appeared on BBS Radio's 'Park Kyung-soo's Morning Journal' and claimed, "If Candidate Na becomes the People Power Party candidate, it will not be easy to unify with Ahn Cheol-soo, a leading figure in the third zone."

Oh continued, "Not only I but also political analysts see it that way," and regarding the possibility of opposition unity with preliminary candidate Ahn Cheol-soo, he said, "I think Ahn Cheol-soo is open. We also considered the possibility of proposing a joint Seoul city co-management coalition government. I am not too worried about opposition unity. I expect that we will work together for the greater good."
