Incheon Airport Corporation Strengthens Win-Win Cooperation with SMEs... Holds Online Meeting The 'Sangsaeng Plus Online Meeting' by Incheon International Airport Corporation to Strengthen Win-Win Cooperation with Small and Medium Enterprises

[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 25th that it held the ‘Sangsaeng Plus Online Meeting’ to strengthen win-win cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the conference room of Incheon Airport Corporation.

The meeting held the previous day was conducted online in a non-face-to-face manner to prevent the spread of COVID-19, with about 60 participants including executives from 50 SMEs in the aviation sector and officials from Incheon Airport Corporation. During the meeting, the corporation introduced the SME technology development support system it is implementing and listened to on-site voices regarding difficulties in technology development.

Incheon Airport Corporation is implementing support measures for SME technology development, such as the Incheon Airport Tech Market platform, the F·A·S·T system, and holding online and offline exhibitions for SMEs.

The ‘Incheon Airport Tech Market platform’ is an open platform that matches excellent technologies developed by SMEs with technology demands needed by Incheon Airport. Since its launch in December 2019, a total of 86 companies have participated, promoting 81 technologies and soliciting 9 research and development (R&D) projects for Incheon Airport’s demand technologies.

The F·A·S·T system is a comprehensive program supporting four major areas that are the biggest challenges for SME technology development: Finance, Application (recruitment), Supporting a Market (market development), and Training (education/consulting). Through this, the corporation supported a total of 34 companies last year alone, providing low-interest win-win cooperation loans worth 6.3 billion KRW and administrative support.

Additionally, to strengthen SME promotion and support market development, online and offline exhibitions are held regularly. The online exhibition ‘Future, Connect,’ co-hosted with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in December last year, attracted about 20,000 aviation industry stakeholders during the exhibition period. In 2019, a ‘Visiting SME Support System Briefing Session’ was held at the WeWork Center in Seoul Station.

Kim Kyung-wook, President of Incheon Airport Corporation, said, "Going forward, Incheon Airport Corporation will actively take the lead in enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs in the aviation sector and establishing a sustainable foundation for mutual growth by introducing excellent SME technologies into airport operations and strengthening support systems."
