According to Daegu City on the 25th, starting from 9:30 a.m. on the 26th, AstraZeneca vaccine inoculations will be sequentially carried out mainly at nursing hospitals and nursing facilities. The first recipients are the couple doctors Hwang Soon-gu (61) and Lee Myung-ok (60), who operate Hansol Nursing Hospital in Buk-gu.

Daegu City explained that the hospital, which opened in 2013, was selected as the first vaccination hospital because it has been exemplary in conducting periodic proactive testing for staff and inpatients and has not had any confirmed COVID-19 cases to date.

Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin plans to visit Hansol Nursing Hospital on the morning of the 26th to encourage the first recipients and the medical staff administering the vaccines.

For nursing facilities, the first vaccination facility is Dr. Kim Elderly Nursing Center (located in Jung-gu), which has been operating for 13 years since 2008. The facility director, social worker Kim Hye-won (61), will be the first to receive the vaccine at the Jung-gu Public Health Center.

Previously, AstraZeneca vaccines distributed from the Icheon Logistics Center in Gyeonggi Province arrived at Daegu's public health centers and nursing hospitals capable of self-vaccination at 5 a.m. on the 25th. Nursing hospitals plan to complete the first dose by March 10, and nursing facilities plan to complete it by the end of March through contracted doctors, public health center visits, or on-site vaccinations at public health centers.

Separately, Pfizer vaccines will arrive on the 26th at the Daegu Regional Vaccination Center (annex of Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital in Jung-gu).
