[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Excavator specialist Volvo Construction Equipment announced on the 25th that it will launch two new models: the 32-ton class excavator 'EC300E PRO' and the 57-ton class super-large excavator 'EC550E.'
The EC300E PRO is an excavator developed and supplied by Volvo Construction Equipment for the commercial transportation sector. Equipped with the Volvo D8M engine and a newly applied electronic hydraulic control system, the company explained that it offers significantly improved fuel efficiency and operational performance compared to previous models. Additionally, it noted that the Volvo electronic hydraulic control system, reinforced heavy counterweight, and low-center-of-gravity chassis design greatly enhance operational stability. Smart features such as Dig Assist (machine control) and Volvo Active Control (advanced machine guidance) are also available as optional equipment.
The EC550E applies a new electronic hydraulic control system to deliver operational performance exceeding 60 tons with low fuel consumption. It also comes standard with a reverse cooling fan, cab safety protection guard, various hydraulic piping work devices, joystick steering device, and a multifunction joystick capable of operating various optional functions.
Both the EC300E PRO and EC550E are equipped with the smart remote service management system 'Volvo CareTrack,' which provides free GPS-based real-time equipment management services. Lim Jae-tak, Vice President of Domestic Sales and Service Division at Volvo Construction Equipment, stated, "The new products will set the direction for excavators used on-site in the future," adding, "All additional products under development will also be provided with smart technology and corresponding soft product work devices."
