Find All Land and Transport Data at Once... Data Portal Opens on the 26th

[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 25th that starting from the 26th, it will launch a service that integrates and provides data in the land, infrastructure, and transport sectors through the internet and mobile platforms.

Public data in the land, infrastructure, and transport sectors, such as actual real estate transaction prices, bus arrival information, and aerial imagery, which have high public relevance and value, have been opened annually. However, since public data has been scattered across multiple locations, there have been inconveniences in finding the necessary data.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has established the ‘Land, Infrastructure and Transport Data Integration Channel’ that allows entrepreneurs and others to identify the location of public data in the land, infrastructure, and transport sectors at once and provides comprehensive information on related analysis, utilization cases, and startup-related information.

In the ‘Data Integration Channel,’ when searching for data, it is possible to search not only the existing open data but also the data held and managed by the Ministry and its affiliated organizations. Additionally, the location and contact information of the data holders are provided so that users can directly request the desired data when needed.

The integrated channel system has built a search database (DB) by linking data from about 130 information systems holding data in the land, infrastructure, and transport sectors to enable fast and accurate searches.

Along with this, to share ideas that can help data companies or entrepreneurs interested in public data develop new services or start businesses, various utilization cases and statistical information involving public-private participation are provided. Furthermore, comprehensive support information such as idea competitions to test data utilization capabilities, educational support, and financial support (startup funds, office space) is also offered.

Kim Yong-ok, Director of Informatization and Statistics at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated, "We expect that strengthening public access to land, infrastructure, and transport data through the ‘Data Integration Channel’ will contribute to revitalizing the data economy," adding, "The Ministry will continue to actively open data while ensuring that data is safely distributed and utilized."
