Audi Volkswagen Korea Executes Organizational Restructuring to "Strengthen Product Competitiveness"


[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Audi Volkswagen Korea announced on the 25th that it will carry out an organizational restructuring to strengthen product quality management and promote future strategies.


With this organizational restructuring, Audi Volkswagen Korea plans to strengthen the product quality management processes of its four brands under its umbrella, while also officially launching the implementation of future mobility strategies characterized by electrification and digitalization.


Audi Volkswagen Korea explained that it will bifurcate the existing PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) function into quality and process divisions. The PDI Quality Team will be responsible for quality inspection and certification verification of vehicles arriving in Korea, while the PDI Process Team will handle pre-delivery inspection, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles. The strategy aims to strengthen the overall vehicle import and customs clearance procedures through this organizational change.


The group after-sales organization will also be restructured. In 2018, Audi Volkswagen Korea consolidated teams responsible for dealer and service campaigns and recall management, which provide on-site technical support for the four brands under its umbrella, under the group after-sales division to increase work focus and efficiency. This organizational restructuring merges two teams into one to enhance agility, work efficiency, and flexibility.


Additionally, the existing Technical Development Center (TDC), which is responsible for testing and localization of navigation and infotainment systems, will be transferred to the newly established digital dedicated organization, "Digitalization and Customer-Centric Experience," created in December last year.
