[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Tensions are rising again in Wando, Jeonnam, after the husband of a daycare teacher tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Wando County on the 25th, the husband of a daycare teacher at Daycare Center A in Wando (Jeonnam case number 850) was confirmed positive in the early morning at 1 a.m. on the same day.
The Jeonnam case number 850 was identified as the husband of a colleague teacher who was infected through a night class daycare teacher (Jeonnam case number 832) commuting to and from Mokpo.
The confirmed case tested positive in a second test conducted by health authorities on close contacts while self-isolating at home with his children. Two children tested negative.
A Wando health official stated, “This confirmed case is the husband of a colleague teacher who was infected through a daycare teacher who visited a cosmetics direct sales company in Mokpo,” and added, “He was tested during self-isolation and had no contact with others.”
Meanwhile, after the daycare teacher’s confirmation, Wando County conducted tests on 2,051 people until the 24th, with 2,046 testing negative and 5 testing positive.
