11st Partners with Animal Freedom Alliance to Support Abandoned Animals... Expanding ESG Management

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] 11st announced on the 25th that it has signed a business agreement with Animal Freedom Union to "improve awareness of companion animals and encourage adoption of abandoned animals." This move aims to spread the correct perception of coexistence with companion animals and fulfill social responsibility amid the recent social movement to protect animal rights, including the revision of the Animal Protection Act.

Through this agreement, 11st will donate approximately 250 million KRW raised through 'Hope Shopping' to the Animal Freedom Union. 11st and Animal Freedom Union plan to design a limited edition adoption support kit for abandoned animals, which will be distributed starting in March, allowing customers on 11st to participate in abandoned animal adoption and support.

Since 2013, 11st has been conducting support activities for various marginalized groups in our society through 'Hope Shopping' with sellers and consumers. This year, the company will focus on three Hope Shopping activities: support for abandoned and companion animals (Animal Freedom Union), support for hearing-impaired children (Love Snail), and support for children at risk of food insecurity (Happy Alliance), continuing its social contribution activities (Hope Activities).

Lee Sang-ho, CEO of 11st, said, "As a company closely connected to customers' daily lives, we want to sincerely carry out activities that help our society together with our customers," adding, "Through this agreement, we will actively participate in the safety management and welfare enhancement of companion animals and strive to spread sustainable social value throughout the year."
