[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seung-jin] KGC Ginseng Corporation announced on the 25th that it has donated Red Ginseng products worth 800 million KRW from CheongKwanJang to the Community Chest of Korea to support socially vulnerable groups struggling due to COVID-19.
This donation is part of CheongKwanJang's annual initiative, "Creating a Healthy World Together," aimed at improving the health of socially vulnerable groups. The donated items include CheongKwanJang's flagship products such as Hong Sam Jeong Everytime, Hong Sam Ton Gold, and Hwa Ae Rak Jin, which will be distributed to elderly living alone and low-income families facing difficulties due to COVID-19 and the economic downturn.
Meanwhile, KGC Ginseng Corporation has been donating Red Ginseng products annually to enhance the health of socially vulnerable groups. It has supported those in welfare blind spots with Red Ginseng products worth approximately 1 billion KRW each year, and last year, it donated Red Ginseng products to frontline medical staff combating COVID-19 as well as vulnerable groups affected by the pandemic.
KGC Ginseng Corporation operates the "CheongKwanJang Fund," which is used to support social welfare facilities nationwide, and carries out various social contribution activities such as the "#HongiyaPleaseTakeCare" campaign supporting water supply projects in Africa and the "CheongKwanJang Social Volunteer Group," composed of voluntary participation by employees for local community support.
Kim Ho-gyeom, Head of External Cooperation at KGC Ginseng Corporation, said, "We have provided Red Ginseng products effective in boosting immunity to marginalized neighbors who find it difficult to maintain their health due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "We plan to continue various social contribution programs so that customers, companies, and society can all become healthier together."
