[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The Nasdaq index, which had fallen at the opening, turned to an upward trend during the session. This is interpreted as due to the easing of the rise in U.S. Treasury yields, which had surpassed 1.4%.
On the 24th (local time) at the New York Stock Exchange, the Nasdaq index was recorded at 13,548.89, up 0.62% compared to the previous day, around 12:25 PM.
The Nasdaq fell as much as 1.3% at the opening but then reduced the decline and succeeded in rebounding.
The fluctuation of the Nasdaq appears to have been influenced by the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rising above 1.4% before the market opened, worsening risk asset investment sentiment, but then falling back to the 1.37% range.
The Dow Jones index is showing a rise of 0.94%, and the S&P 500 index is up 0.81%.
