[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Won-tong Public Library in Inje County, Gangwon Province, will install media art featuring famous paintings for the first time in a library.

According to the county on the 24th, the installation of media art based on famous paintings in the library is part of Inje County's first-ever 'customized specialization strategy' and 'future-oriented library strategy' for each library since the 7th local government administration.

Previously, the county collected opinions from library users through a survey and decided to install media art based on famous paintings.

The county plans to use 12 works by the Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh, 12 works by Claude Monet, and 12 works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir as a new communication and experiential space for local residents.

Additionally, a live sketch space has been prepared so that child users can find the library an interesting place and naturally become familiar with books.

Users can color various famous painting sketch templates prepared in the library, scan them, and communicate with each other through the images projected on the screen.

Along with this, a book cafe has been created by utilizing effective space in the corridor on the second floor of the library to serve as a cultural space for seniors and teenagers.

A library official stated, "We will transform the library into a space where users can become the protagonists of the books and the painters who complete famous paintings, beyond simply borrowing and returning books."
