Addressing Breakup Rumors on SNS
"Jinhwa and Divorce? I Don't Want to Say Anything"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Amid rumors of divorce, the couple Ham So-won and Jin Hua have sparked speculation as Ham So-won posted a message on social media.
On the 24th, Ham So-won shared part of a report about her marital relationship with Jin Hua on Instagram, writing, "#Silence I don't want to say anything today."
Earlier that day, Sports Chosun reported, citing an insider, that the relationship between Ham So-won and Jin Hua had rapidly cooled.
According to the report, an insider familiar with the couple said, "Recently, the relationship between Ham So-won and Jin Hua deteriorated rapidly, leading to their decision to separate. Jin Hua decided on the separation (divorce) and is currently preparing to leave the country. The mother-in-law tried to reconcile their relationship, but it was to no avail."
After the report suggesting their separation was released, a representative from TV Chosun’s variety show The Taste of Wife (abbreviated as Wife’s Taste), in which Ham So-won and Jin Hua appear, stated, "We have not heard any rumors about Ham So-won and Jin Hua’s divorce. We have also not heard anything about their departure from the show."
On the 23rd, during an episode of The Taste of Wife, Ham So-won attracted attention by revealing, "Going through menopause, there are moments when I laugh while talking and then suddenly feel choked up." Previously, scenes of the couple arguing were shown multiple times on The Taste of Wife, which led to rumors of their departure and divorce, but they soon showed affectionate moments, dispelling concerns.
Meanwhile, controversy arose that day when it was revealed that Ham So-won referred to kimchi by its Chinese name, pao cai (泡菜). Ham So-won did not provide a detailed explanation but posted a photo of kimchi on Instagram.
Ham So-won is married to Jin Hua, a Chinese man 18 years her junior, and they have a daughter.
