Korea Startup Forum Holds 2021 Annual General Meeting
On the 24th, An Seong-woo, Chairman of the Korea Startup Forum and CEO of Zigbang, is conducting the general meeting.
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Korea Startup Forum (Chairpersons Kim Seul-ah, Ahn Sung-woo, Lee Seung-gun, hereafter Kospo) announced on the 24th that it held its 2021 regular general meeting. Currently, about 1,520 startups and innovative companies are members of Kospo.
This general meeting was held mainly online due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, with only a minimal number of people attending on-site. About 90 people participated in the meeting, including Kospo chairpersons Kim Seul-ah (CEO of Kurly), Ahn Sung-woo (CEO of Zigbang), Lee Seung-gun (CEO of Viva Republica), and CEO Choi Sung-jin, where they approved the 2020 business settlement report, 2021 business plan, and budget proposal.
Marking its 5th anniversary this year, Kospo set its 2021 activity goal as "Korea Startup Forum, Wider, Deeper, Farther," and plans to carry out ▲strengthening the role as a dynamic startup growth support platform ▲continuous improvement of the startup regulatory environment ▲activities to enhance the status of Kospo’s 5th anniversary. It also intends to take the lead in responding to industrial and regional issues and expanding markets to foster a startup innovation ecosystem.
Additionally, to strengthen the promotion of startup scale-up and exit activation strategies, Kospo plans to expand cooperation with entrepreneurs who have prior experience. To this end, Kospo will reorganize its membership system this year and introduce an 'Honorary Member' system for startups that have gone public through mergers and acquisitions or IPOs, including listed companies.
Ahn Sung-woo (CEO of Zigbang), chairperson, said at the general meeting, "Last year, many startups faced difficulties and changes amid the unprecedented COVID-19 situation. I hope the situation improves quickly so that we can grow together this year." He added, "As Kospo marks its 5th anniversary this year, we will strive to play a meaningful role in the startup ecosystem."
