[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the 2021 comprehensive evaluation of local tax administration conducted by Jeonbuk Province.
The local tax evaluation is conducted annually by Jeonbuk Province among 14 cities and counties within the province to encourage autonomous resource expansion through healthy competition and to boost the morale of tax officials.
In this evaluation, the city received high marks for consistent and persistent tax administration, including the seizure of license plates of delinquent vehicles, public auction of seized properties, tracking and seizure of financial assets, and collection from chronic delinquent taxpayers outside the region.
Additionally, through steady promotion of local tax payment and despite the difficult economic situation due to COVID-19, the high taxpaying awareness of citizens led to outstanding performance in local tax collection and assessment.
A city official stated, “We will continue to promote taxpayer convenience, improve unreasonable systems, and carry out fair and trustworthy tax administration to achieve stable tax revenue expansion and enhance financial independence.”
