[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Naju Office of Education held the '2021 Moksagoeul Naju Happy Village School Operation Briefing' on the 23rd at the Naju Education Center, attended by village school operators and education office officials.
The briefing was conducted to establish a village school network where schools and villages coexist and to strengthen the capabilities of village school operators.
The lecture was given by CEO Lee Jae-min (Gwangyang Baegunsan Village School) under the theme 'The Meeting of Village Education Curriculum and Village Schools,' and discussions were held on the village school operation manual, subsidy execution guidelines, and the operation plan for the Moksagoeul Naju Happy Village School network.
The briefing shared topics such as 'Strengthening the capabilities of village school operators,' school-village linked educational activities, and best practices in operating the village school network.
Village schools are one form of village education community operation where members of the village education community conduct ▲community-linked experiential activities ▲alternative educational activities ▲after-school programs ▲care services to help local children grow into democratic citizens.
The '2021 Moksagoeul Naju Happy Village School' plans to operate a total of 22 schools, including one provincial-designated village school and 16 city-designated village schools operated last year, with five additional preliminary village schools this year.
The Naju Happy Village School plans to visit local students with programs utilizing human and material resources of the Naju area, such as ▲village exploration ▲woodworking experience ▲natural dyeing ▲traditional games ▲farming experience ▲ecological experience ▲YouTube production ▲photography ▲ceramics experience.
Education Director Kim Young-gil stated, “Schools and villages must establish an education community and governance system,” adding, “The school curriculum should be appropriately reorganized focusing on students’ perspectives and growth, and a village education community culture should be fostered where educational stakeholders unite and communicate through the village.”
