Seoul City Expands Support to 700 Solo Media Expert Teams... Equipment and Networking Assistance Provided

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 24th that it will expand the number of ‘Creative Force,’ one-person media creators and Seoul city video ambassadors, to 700 teams this year. Now in its fifth year, ‘Creative Force’ is a large-scale one-person media community active in producing promotional videos ranging from Seoul’s major tourist attractions to competitive small and medium-sized enterprise products.

Those selected as ‘Creative Force’ members receive multifaceted support to grow as one-person media creators, including ▲support for editing and filming equipment ▲content production training ▲networking ▲securing revenue through content development.

One of the biggest benefits is the free provision of filming and production equipment for one-person media. Once becoming a Creative Force creator, members can use all professional filming equipment such as cameras, lighting, and live broadcasting devices free of charge, as well as infrastructure like the filming studio and editing rooms at the S-Plex Center.

Customized one-person media training is also provided at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Various educational programs to grow as a one-person media creator?from planning content themes to production and editing know-how?are offered online and offline throughout the year. Additionally, members become part of a community of creators active on over 600 channels, receiving mentoring regularly to foster growth. They also have opportunities to generate income by producing branded content in collaboration with various companies and institutions.

Meanwhile, the city will make the ‘One-Person Media Online Educational Content (W-UP),’ which was previously available only to Creative Force members, freely accessible this year to any citizens interested in one-person media or prospective creators. The content can be accessed through the Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal, the Korea Creative Content Agency, and the YouTube channel ‘KpoTV’ operated by SBA.

The one-person media online education ‘W-UP’ features 12 active creators as instructors who share their know-how. It includes a total of 29 courses covering everything from creator introduction to growing into influential creators.

Jung Young-jun, Director of the Seoul Economic Policy Division, said, “The activities of Creative Force will lead to the creation of competitive jobs representing the one-person media era, where interest in individual content production and consumption is increasing. We hope that prospective creators will grow into influential creators and also serve as video ambassadors promoting Seoul and small and medium-sized enterprises.”
