Gwangju City Recruiting Village Enterprises for Youth Employment Support Program Participation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it will recruit village enterprises to participate in the ‘2021 Village Enterprise Youth Employment Support Project’ from the 22nd to next month 5th.

The ‘Village Enterprise Youth Employment Support Project’ is part of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s region-led youth job project. It provides unemployed youth with on-site work experience and employment opportunities to help them settle in the region, and supports village enterprises seeking to secure excellent talent by providing youth manpower to revitalize the social economy.

Applicants must be village enterprises designated by the Minister of the Interior and Safety. A total of 23 people are eligible for support, and selected village enterprises will receive youth labor costs for the agreed number of people, supported up to 1.8 million KRW per month for a maximum of two years.

Companies wishing to participate in the project can download the application form and required documents from the city website’s public notice section, fill them out, and submit them in person or by mail to the relevant district office department.

Participating village enterprises will be selected through a review committee, and after selection, a contract will be signed with the autonomous district to hire youth for each company.

The hiring target is unemployed youth aged 18 to 39, who will receive a monthly salary of about 2 million KRW during the project period, along with job training and consulting, networking to foster solidarity among youth and increase understanding of the region, and various benefits such as job competency enhancement.

Also, if they settle in the region after employment or starting a business at the end of the project period, an incentive of 10 million KRW per person will be provided.

Park Jeong-hwan, Director of the City’s Job Economy Office, said, “In this difficult situation due to COVID-19, I hope this project will create jobs for local youth and supply excellent talent to help village enterprises become self-reliant and grow,” and added, “We hope interested companies will actively participate.”
