[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, a subsidiary of Korea Technology (CEO Shin Yong-gu, Lee Byung-gil), a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on the 22nd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BAPS (CEO Oh In-seop) and LT Sambo (CEO Jang Tae-il) for the development of a golf resort in Bohol, Philippines.


Through this MOU, the three organizations will establish a strategic partnership for the construction contract, construction design, project implementation, permit cooperation, and overseas projects planned for the Soluce golf resort in Bohol, Philippines.


According to the agreement, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction and LT Sambo will carry out the construction, while BAPS will be responsible for development and implementation, with mutual information sharing.


The project is the first luxury integrated leisure town on Bohol Island, a popular tourist destination in the Philippines, with a total floor area of approximately 58,000 square meters (17,617 pyeong).


The main facilities to be introduced in the buildings include ▲18-hole golf course ▲golf clubhouse ▲hotel ▲village ▲horse riding practice ground ▲water park ▲spa shop ▲shopping center ▲duty-free shop ▲museum, providing abundant tourism and leisure services.


In particular, its geographical location within a 30-minute drive from Panglao New Airport, various viewing and experience infrastructure, and pristine natural scenery are expected to attract high interest from consumers.


A company official stated, “We will present the first golf course on Bohol Island, which is listed on the tentative list of UNESCO World Natural Heritage, together with the world’s best hotel brands,” adding, “We will do our utmost to develop it as a clean leisure-specialized tourist complex.”


Meanwhile, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction has been actively promoting green new deal-linked renewable energy projects by signing a 480 billion KRW contract for the Saemangeum offshore wind power complex construction in January this year, advancing the Ariul offshore wind power project in February, and participating in a government-led mega offshore wind power generation project in the first half of the year.
