Genesis Diversifies Vehicle Subscription Service 'Genesis Spectrum'

Genesis brand announced on the 22nd that it has significantly enhanced the vehicle subscription service 'Genesis Spectrum.' Launched in the domestic market in 2018, 'Genesis Spectrum' is the first vehicle subscription service in Korea that allows easy access to various Genesis lineup models with just a monthly subscription fee.

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor's Genesis vehicle subscription service, ‘Genesis Spectrum,’ has expanded its range of vehicle models and price options to offer greater choice.

The Genesis brand announced on the 22nd that it has significantly enhanced the services of its vehicle subscription service, ‘Genesis Spectrum.’

Launched in the domestic market in 2018, ‘Genesis Spectrum’ is the first vehicle subscription service in Korea that allows easy access to various Genesis lineup models by simply paying a monthly subscription fee.

‘Genesis Spectrum’ has strengthened its service competitiveness by introducing a new single-model subscription program alongside the existing program, which allowed users to switch among major Genesis models such as the G80 (GAT), GV80 (GVAT), and G70 (G70) for a monthly fee of 1.89 million KRW.

The newly introduced single-model subscription program allows customers to use one vehicle without switching on a monthly basis, offering tiered subscription fees by model to greatly improve consumer price accessibility.

Specifically, the G70 is available for 1.39 million KRW per month, and the G80 for 1.69 million KRW per month. The G90 (G90), which was previously only available for short-term subscriptions of 24 to 72 hours, has also been newly added as a target model and can be subscribed to under the single-model program for 2.95 million KRW per month.

The benefits of the existing subscription program have also been enhanced. ‘Genesis Spectrum’ provides customers who commit to 3-month or 6-month replacement plans with two 24-hour free usage vouchers for the G90 every three months. Customers with a 6-month contract can use the G90 for free up to four times, each for 24 hours.

These vouchers include a ‘roaming’ benefit, allowing use in other service areas, so customers in the metropolitan area can use Genesis vehicles when temporarily visiting places like Busan or Jeju.

‘Genesis Spectrum’ plans to introduce a subscription product for the newly launched SUV model GV70 (GV70) within this month, and will also launch a replacement subscription program allowing monthly vehicle swaps between the GV70 and G70 models in the future.

Unlike long-term rentals that require contracts of at least 24 months, with down payments, subsidies, mileage limits, and significant penalties for early termination, ‘Genesis Spectrum’ allows cancellation after just one month of use without such restrictions.

A Genesis representative said, “We will continue to enhance products and benefits, including the introduction of new electric vehicles, to provide a differentiated experience unique to the Genesis brand. We will also continuously expand services so that subscription becomes a new option alongside purchase, rental, and lease in vehicle usage.”
