[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seung-jin] Former U.S. President Donald Trump will make his first official public appearance since leaving office on the 28th (local time). It has been about a month since he left the White House on the 20th of last month.

According to the American political media outlet The Hill on the 21st, former President Trump will speak as a speaker on the last day of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held in Orlando, Florida, on the 28th.

At this event, former President Trump is expected to share his thoughts on the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement, and strongly criticize President Joe Biden's immigration policies. Although he has given media interviews since leaving office, this will be his first time attending a public event.

Since his defeat in the November presidential election last year, former President Trump has expressed his intention to maintain political influence as well as his willingness to run again in the 2024 presidential election.

CPAC is a representative annual event of the conservative camp, with many activists, think tank members, and Republican lawmakers participating. Republican figures considering a presidential run often attend as speakers. Former President Trump also appeared at CPAC in 2011.

In addition to former President Trump, this year's event will feature former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Senators Ted Cruz, Rick Scott, and Tom Cotton as speakers.

The event is usually held in Maryland, but this year it is reported to have been moved to Florida due to COVID-19 restrictions.
