[Asia Economy Reporter Nana] A survey in China revealed that only 40% of medical staff and quarantine workers responsible for COVID-19 vaccination are willing to get vaccinated.

According to the South China Morning Post, a survey conducted by the Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention on 756 medical and quarantine workers showed that about 42% said they would receive the emergency use authorized vaccine during the government-led vaccination period.

Only 28% of respondents said they would voluntarily get vaccinated after the vaccine was released for general use.

Most respondents reluctant to get vaccinated were reportedly concerned about potential side effects.

Additionally, a survey conducted last month by the Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention on 1.8 million residents showed that only about half of the residents expressed willingness to get vaccinated.
