[Asia Economy Reporter Nahana] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun recently joined the audio chat-based social networking service (SNS) 'Clubhouse,' which has been gaining popularity.
Prime Minister Chung's 'Clubhouse' account profile features a character wearing a yellow civil defense uniform and introduces himself as "The Yellow Jumper Uncle."
According to the Prime Minister's Office on the 20th, Chung created his Clubhouse account on the 15th and participated in a Clubhouse chat room created by Democratic Party lawmaker Jung Cheong-rae on the 19th, engaging in conversation with citizens for over an hour.
On the 20th, Chung posted on Facebook, "I heard it's been hot lately, so I tried joining for a night outing," sharing his first experience.
He said, "Questions ranged from 'Are you really the Prime Minister?' and 'Is this an impression?' to various topics like real estate and violence in the sports world," adding, "I was a bit taken aback by unexpected questions and reactions, but the new experience was enjoyable."
He continued, "Through voice alone, you can have candid conversations with anyone, making communication easier than any other SNS," and said, "I will strive to communicate comfortably with many people."
