Jeong Manho, Cheong National Communication Secretary, "Regret over baseless speculative reports"... "Speculative reports treating undecided prosecution follow-up personnel as confirmed"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The Blue House clarified that the claim that the Ministry of Justice personnel appointments were announced without President Moon Jae-in's approval is not true.
Jung Man-ho, the Blue House Senior Secretary for Public Communication, stated in a message to reporters on the 20th, "The reports claiming that the Ministry of Justice personnel appointments were announced without the President's approval are not true. We ask for restraint from unfounded speculative reporting."
Secretary Jung expressed regret over the continuous baseless speculative reports regarding the prosecution personnel process, saying, "There are speculative reports as if the follow-up prosecution personnel appointments, which have not yet been decided, have already been finalized. We ask once again for restraint."
Earlier, some media outlets reported that Minister of Justice Park Beom-gye unilaterally announced high-ranking prosecution personnel appointments without President Moon's approval. There were also suspicions that Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Shin Hyun-soo opposed this and requested an inspection of Minister Park to the President, and upon refusal, tendered his resignation. The Blue House is currently urging restraint from baseless speculative reports.
