Gwangju City Signs AI Business Agreement with 6 Startups On the afternoon of the 19th, Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, signed a business agreement at the City Hall Business Room with AI startups Rimo Co., Ltd., Muhan Information Technology Co., Ltd., Big Tree Co., Ltd., Spotu Co., Ltd., Epic Mobile Co., Ltd., and Iota Labs Co., Ltd. to establish a Gwangju-type AI business foundation. [Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City signed the 74th to 79th business agreements on the 19th with AI startups Remo Co., Ltd., Muhan Information Technology Co., Ltd., Big Tree Co., Ltd., Spotu Co., Ltd., Epic Mobile Co., Ltd., and Iota Labs Co., Ltd. to establish a Gwangju-type AI business foundation. They agreed to actively cooperate in creating the Gwangju AI ecosystem through corporate establishment and regional office setup for each company.


Remo Co., Ltd. is a specialized company developing video AI and VR software in the healthcare field.


Main products include ▲ Remobody, a 3D body shape scanner for fitness ▲ Powix, a reward-based 4-week motivational diet challenge ▲ musculoskeletal simulation and AI-based hospital-home linked health management system.


Muhan Information Technology Co., Ltd. is a specialized company building AI-based intelligent spatial information services. Major products include ▲ Road Big Data Platform (SMART RATS) ▲ National Land and Environment Management System (SMART LEMS) ▲ Disaster early warning system (Flood control management system, IoT sensor information collection and analysis system, intelligent early warning service) ▲ Traffic safety facility management system.


Big Tree Co., Ltd. is a specialized company supplying robo-advisor platforms and big data analysis engines that combine data, financial engineering, and AI. Major products include ▲ Natural Language Analysis Platform (Bigbot Linguist) ▲ Voice Recognition Chatbot (Bigson) ▲ Robo-advisor Platform (Bigbot).


Spotu Co., Ltd. is a specialized company providing solutions that accurately monitor changes in physical condition and offer more effective exercise and coaching based on collected diverse data. Major products include ▲ SaaS-type multi-tracking solution for sports teams and gyms (Performance Tracking Solution Spotu) ▲ SPOTU Pro (high-intensity exercise at athlete level) ▲ SPOTU Lite (light exercise for the general public).


Epic Mobile Co., Ltd. is a company developing target data collection automation robots, structured and unstructured big data-based analysis, and meta-search technology. Major products include ▲ Customized information recommendation service based on pregnancy and childcare specialized information (Ready Baby).


Iota Labs Co., Ltd. develops and provides indoor positioning-based media services. Major products include ▲ Camera-based real-time 3D human motion ▲ Real-time human motion recognition and exercise type classification.


Through this business agreement, Remo and Spotu will cooperate in healthcare services, Muhan Information Technology in spatial information analysis, Big Tree in big data analysis, Epic Mobile in online services and platform development, and Iota Labs in cultural content services. They plan to mutually cooperate in fostering AI specialists and creating new jobs in the Gwangju area.


Main agreement contents include ▲ Solution development and technical/policy consulting for AI-related ecosystem creation ▲ Promotion of establishing Gwangju corporations or regional offices for AI specialist talent development and job creation ▲ Development, operation, and promotion of corporate support programs for AI industry ecosystem creation ▲ Implementation of AI specialist education and employment programs.


Company representatives said, “We are pleased to contribute to the creation of the Gwangju AI industrial ecosystem based on unlimited potential and a spirit of challenge through this agreement,” adding, “We will actively cooperate in securing human resources and nurturing talent.”


Mayor Lee Yong-seop stated, “We will actively support startups with innovative technologies and ideas to grow into unicorn companies in Gwangju, the AI-centered city,” and added, “By converging AI with various industries to secure Gwangju’s unique global competitiveness, we will concentrate all capabilities to create an AI industrial ecosystem and generate many new jobs.”
