[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korean Airport, a subsidiary of Hanjin Group, announced on the 19th that it has produced a Diamond Master who has achieved 20 years of accident-free service through its self-operated 'Ramp Master' certification system.

Lee Seong-hyung, Senior Supervisor and Functional Senior of the Ramp Passenger Team 2 at Korean Airport, who was selected as this Diamond Master, has been working since joining the company in 1987, handling ground operations for major airlines including Korean Air. Since being appointed Ramp Master in 2000, he has safely managed approximately 46,000 flights without accidents over 20 years, earning this honor.

Korean Airport promotes safety awareness among its employees through the Ramp Master certification system, which is equivalent to a master craftsman in the industrial field for ground operations. Selection is based on comprehensive evaluation of experience and work ability as the leader of the responsible ground operations team. Employees who achieve 10 years of accident-free service are awarded Silver Master, those with 15 years receive Gold Master, and those with 20 years are granted Diamond Master.

Supervisor Lee Seong-hyung said, "This achievement was possible thanks to the team members who worked with me over the past 20 years," adding, "I am very honored to receive such a meaningful title at the point of concluding my 35 years of service with the company."

Yoo Jong-seok, CEO of Korean Airport, stated, "Safety is Korean Airport's top priority and core competency," and added, "We sincerely congratulate the employee who became a Diamond Master through accident-free operations and will spare no effort or support to continue building a safe company."

Korean Airport conducts ground operations for about 50 airlines, including Korean Air and Jin Air, at all domestic airports including Incheon International Airport. It operates various businesses such as fueling, air cargo, maintenance, fuel facility management, as well as premium bottled water Hanjin Jeju Pure Water, Jeju Folk Village, and forklift rental services.
